packet loss

i have been suffering with packet loss for 2 weeks now (at first after about 6pm ) but all the time now , i have tried the online chat to get help but its not working according to pingtest.net my connection show packet loss 12%,ping 43ms and jitter 56ms. As my primary reason in having broadband is so i can game online i need a good stable connection. how do i get this problem looked at

Is this over a wired or wireless connection?

hi mathew,  i use a wired connection, no other device connected to router (wired or wireless) altho to be fair most of sunday and today its been ok . no packet loss ,ping 17ms jitter 1ms. but it seems to be an intermittant fault with evenings being the worse. have tried rebooting the hub one , rebooting the xbox , changing ethernet and hdmi cables, shouting at the wife and changing dns values on the xbox. just hope its ok now

ps web pages were really slow to load as well
