iPlayer and Netflix unusable during evenings

During the day I have no problem watching 4K content via the internet on my smart TV. However in the last few days I'm finding that 4K and even standard definition content is unwatchable as it buffers every few seconds. Prior to about a week ago I didn't experience any problem. I can still watch iplayer on my iPad in the evening without any buffering and the broadband speed test is showing about 20 Meg during the day and evening. As the primary reason for switching to fibre was to watch streaming content on my TV in the evening I'm very frustrated. Is there a solution to the buffering problem?

Is your smart TV using wifi or hard wired to the router?

Just because it's happening to more than one unlucky soul doesn't mean that the cause is the same in every case. It could easily be an internal WiFi issue hence the question whether the OP is connected via wireless or cable.
I have experienced buffering problems in the evening. This was completely solved by installing a Cat 5e cable between my Fire TV and Router.

its been happening to me since November.
Hardwire via lan cable into router.
Why arent the mods saying anything (as with the post above thats been edited?) Im on the top package yet its unusable.

If it isnt incapable or uninterested then can you suggest why I have been without useablr broadband for so long without explanation?

I do apologise, i didn't know that and the mods should be commended for the work they do.
However it still doesn't explain that a number of us have had a down turn in service since November which i wish plus net would explain.
Saying that, i hope everyone, mods, plus net admins, users and all have a very very merry Christmas and a fantastic new 2018
