iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

Since I got fibre installed my iPads keep loosing wifi connectivity, restarting wifi cures this. I have tried several different channels with no improvement.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

Good afternoon, have you tried to change the routers position. Do you have it near any electrical appliances or a boiler these could have an effect on the connectivity of the WiFi.
If this does not work please let us know.

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

Thanks Jo, I haven't tried changing the position of the router, mainly because it's in the same position as the router we had prior to upgrading to fibre? The router is actually on the television stand

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

Hi, if you could try changing the position of the router, lets try every option available to us so we can rule something else out. The fibre router is different to the ADSL and can react differently when close to electronic devices.

Try a different (read better) router.
The PN one is not known for its brilliance.

Glad that has helped. I know it seemed like a strange request, at least it has worked

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

Hi again Jo, unfortunately we still have  the problem of wifi dropping out! Have tried router in several places with no improvement. It's so annoying because we had a better connection with our old router and we're paying much more for fibre! What do you suggest?

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

Hi Dobby, sorry that this hasn't worked. Did you say you had changed the channels on the router?, if not please try changing to one at the start on in the middle or one in the end.
If this doesn't work please try the troubleshoot on the website
www.plus.net/support/broadband/wireless_broadband/
Hope this helps

Make sure it's not using channel 13 in wireless settings

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

I've had dropouts caused by auto selection of wifi channels before, if there are a number of access points all trying to auto switch to the optimum channel, then your own channel will keep changing, causing a dropout. The solution in my case was just to pick a channel manually

Re: iPad dropping wifi since fibre installation

You've probably tried this :
In the iPad's Wi-Fi settings choose "Forget this Network".
Let it find the network again & re-Join re-entering login details.
