Re: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ giving wrong results

it started reporting correct download speed after 11pm but now its showing upload is halved

Download speedachieved during the test was - 42.59 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 31.21 Mbps-44.59 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 44.59 Mbps

2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
5.25 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 5.25Mbps
Additional Information:

Re: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ giving wrong results

Im finding the speed test at http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html to be inaccurate / jittery, its said that speedtest sites requiring the adobe flash plug in are not as accurate as the HTML5 speedtesters such as http://speedof.me/

By whom? No doubt those promoting their own HTML5 testers.

I find that site particularly inaccurate.

Re: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ giving wrong results

According to what i read on cnet who compared speedtesters here

"Many experts claim HTML5-based speed tests are more accurate than tests that use Java and Adobe Flash. Others point out that multithread tests such as those used by Ookla (Speedtest.net and branded by many ISPs) don't represent real-world network traffic as well as single-thread tests"

Theres a review of HTML5 speedtesters here

"Speedof.me came closest to the actual speed of the Internet connection. While it lacks options to change servers, it was the most accurate HTML5 Internet speed testing service.

Your mileage may vary depending on your location in the world though."

Cnet? I wouldn't trust them to tell me which day it was!

If you read the article you linked to they suggest HTML5 testers are the best but then go on to say Ookla testers are more accurate Crazy2

If you want to try something which doesn't rely on HTML5 or Flash I can recommend JD's Auto Speed Tester.

Re: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ giving wrong results

thought I was already on the New improved network, but guess not as now on vastly different routing than I have had previously.  Plus the pleasure of getting packet loss, which I have not had in months which just caps off BTspeedtester not working while trying to find a recordable fault for support monkeys that do live chats
