Re: help with new fibre install

A female engineer called my brother not long ago to say its normal to have speeds like this to begin with and that he is advised to wait a few days. He said his speeds are still up and down like a yo yo from 6 meg to 17, i disagree that this is normal but then again im not an engineer.

Re: help with new fibre install

Was that someone from Plusnet who called or Openreach?
Either way they are incorrect, I'll ask Matthew to have a look back at the fault.

Re: help with new fibre install

Unfortunately our suppliers are dragging their heels on this at the moment.
I'm due a e-mail back from a manager shortly and I'll get this updated as soon as possible.
[EDIT]
Right we have all day tomorrow and Saturday. Are any of those good for a visit?

Re: help with new fibre install

Thanks for that.
I'll get it booked in now but it may take a while to confirm on our suppliers systems.
Once this has been done I'll update the account.

Re: help with new fibre install

update... just had an openreach guy out who had to do some internal wiring.. basicly fit a new master socket. He ran a test on the socket which im connected too and said that the line supports upto 85meg, altho his test showed we will get around 63 meg because of the distance which i found fine. So all i need is for plusnet to check it over for me there side because ive ran a speedtest and its showing this

maybe this is the best he can get ?

Re: help with new fibre install

I've increased the profile from our side to match the speed the engineer mentioned, so if you can log in to the router and do a disconnect/reconnect hopefully you'll see an improvement.
