graceful shutdown

Hi. I need to do some electrical worknthatvmean turning off all the power to the house. I know that i should  disconnect the ppp session in the router first, but are there any special procedures for the or modem. Also when I am ready to turn on again any procedure to follow. Thanks

Re: graceful shutdown

I believe that other than doing a graceful disconnect the only other thing is to leave the modem switched off for over 30 minutes - I believe I read that on Kitz Forums

Re: graceful shutdown

Wait about 30seconds after you've dropped the PPP session, then power off the router. After about a minute power off the modem.
When powering up again, ideally no less than an hour after switch off, wait until the modem has booted and all lights stabilise before powering up the router. When it's booted, you may need to log in and click Connect to establish a new PPP session.
