Re: fibre down

WARNING: do not rebooting or turn off VDSL2 modem for at least 30 minutes or otherwise DLM will bite you overnight!

Re: fibre down

That merge would be pointless now I'm afraid since they chose to separate Fibre and ADSL onto two boards Roll_eyes

Re: fibre down

Router and Windows Networking say I'm connected now but cannot ping any external domains like google.
Looks like I just lost my assigned IP and gateway again.
Seems when I do get an IP it's 172.21....  mask 32 . Gateway is 172.16.19.10

Re: fibre down

Still cannot connect despite turning both modem (at the risk of DLM) and router off.

Re: fibre down

Fibre customers, if you ever resort to turning off the modem, which should be an absolute last resort then it's best to leave it off for at least 30mins - 60 minutes, the longer the better. It's best to turn on in daylight hours when interference is less, so I would explore all other options such as clicking Disconnect in your Router and turning it off for 30 minutes, turning on and clicking Connect before even considering turning off the Modem.
ALWAYS, click Disconnect and power down the Router before turning off the Modem if you resort to that.
When you power up, wait until the Modem has finished booting and lights are stable before turning on the Router and clicking Connect.
If that fails, you may need to phone in for them to kill a stale session.

Re: fibre down

Well, I'm finally back online.
I hope everyone else is, too...
I suspect someone at PN towers must be having a nasty Saturday evening.

Re: fibre down

Still no good here. Turned Openreach moden off for half hour as suggested but router still will not connect to the Internet even after a reboot. Only get the 172.20.132.150 IP address. Can't even create a direct Ppoe connection on the pc. Comes up with error 718, the remote computer did not respond in a timely fashion.
What's worse you can't even get through on the P/N phone number, it cuts you off after the initial message.
What's going on & when am I going to get an Internet connection?
At the very least P/N should give everyone a free month subscription.

You want a free month for less than 3 hours downtime internet connection ? Catch yourself on.

What do you mean?
I still can't get connected, read my post properly.
Having enough problems without silly comments from you.
As I said you cannot even get through to the P/N service centre on the phone.

Re: fibre down

Me too.  The 30 mins power down was the best advice really. Smiley

Re: fibre down

It would be very useful if those that have successfully reestablished their internet connection could tell those of us that haven't what you did to get the service back. So far I have tried several reboots of the hardware (the last one for 45 mins) plus reestablishing the gateway via the router on several occasions. I have a connection but no internet. C.3 hours now and counting.

AsylumSKP, when you say you have a Connection, but no Internet are you connected to the BTw page?
