Re: change?

Hi Chris Smiley
That was us, and it's clearly documented on your account, so don't worry.
I think the idea was to get you on to a non-legacy product.

And if the OP is currently on a 40/10 or 40/20 product they should be careful about 'upgrading' to a current package Wink

Re: change?

They were on 80/20. Though both products were offered. OP is still on a package from back when they were governed by usage limits.

Re: change?

You need to make sure the package they offering is Plusnet Fibre Extra and not Plusnet Fibre. Fibre Extra will give you the same speeds as you have at present (up to 80mbps download, up to 20 mbps upload), the basic fibre package will give you up to 40mbps download, 2mbps upload - i.e. a very significant drop in your upload speed.

Re: change?

I'm a bit worried now. I've switched to plusnet and awaiting activation on the 30th. I ordered the lowest fiber package, up to 38mb download (my line cant go above 37 it seems after 3 years on BT infinity 2 80/20 so no point going any higher). They don't mention upload speeds in the product listings so I got onto live chat during my order and asked what upload speed i will get. They said 9.5mb. What am I going to get? 2mb or 10? I currently have 7mb upload and don't want to go down to 2mb.
EDIT: Just double checked my account, my internet package is Unlimited Fiber. Is this 2mb or 10mb upload? Cheers!

Re: change?

What? I was specifically told 10mb(well 9.5). This is what swayed me to make the order. Unless someone from Plusnet can sort this out I'll be cancelling before the 30th. Already appalled!

Re: change?

That's the maximum your line supports. Unfortunately Plusnet are selling a capped product that won't let you have more than 2Mb/s upload. The CSer you spoke to in live chat was wrong. This is why I felt it appropriate to give you a warning.
PN currently only offer two products. 80/20 and 40/2.

@Andrue - you are mixing up the two users who have posted in here. nicktanner has never said he's spoken to CS. In fact I'm not sure what the relevance of his posts in this topic are at all!
