broadband extra

Here is the issue, I was out of contract and phoned to to ensure I could sing up for a better deal elsewhere. But as I was chatting to the rep, he said broadband extra would increase my upload speed. I could get 20 mbs if it was possible.

Checking with www.btwholesale.com, with a clean line I could get 80/20 which is fine, so I paid the extra and low and behold I get 50/9.

am I missing something. Could anyone help.

Re: broadband extra

How are you testing speeds?

What are your sync speeds, as it is these that PN will be interested in. Post the details from the Help Desk page on your router, making sure you hide any personal information.

Re: broadband extra

It looks like you have been provisioned on a 55/10 product rather than 80/20.

Either more time on the phone, or hope someone like @Gandalf spots your post and can help.

Re: broadband extra

Sorry, that just helps prove my initial thoughts, you are on the 55/10 product, not 80/20.

That said, your upload is very slow, did you do that test on a wired or WiFi device?

The max data rate from your earlier post, and the DSL checker shows you should be getting better speeds.

So, you need to work out why you are not maxing out your 55/10 product, what else is going on at the same time as you are testing? Then get PN to put you on the correct BTW 80/20 product.

But if your devices are not capable of using 80/20, you may be better off on a 40/10 product and save yourself some money.

Re: broadband extra

Fix

Apologies for the delayed response.

As others have pointed out you've been incorrectly put on 55/10.

I've placed a order to correct this which will complete tomorrow.

Re: broadband extra

I'm glad to hear your speeds have improved!

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
