Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

I have the Unlimited Fibre Extra just upgraded a few days ago.

I was expecting a much faster experience but so far it's the same or worse than the previous product.

I'm plugged into the master socket via mirco filter

Re: Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

Hi @adriang, testing the line shows you are in sync at 60mb which although it's within your estimates, it's at the lower end.

Can you connect your router to the test socket and run a wired speed test, letting us know the results?

Re: Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

I had bought this to help with playing online PS4 as im convinced i have lag maybe there is something else I have to do?

As far as I know I have moved my Ps4 to the DMZ and also added all the ports PS4 have said to add (and also the fortnite game)

Re: Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

Hi @adriang, thanks for the update.

Had you been able to access the test socket as my colleague @LaurenB suggested?

The reason we ask you to perform this check is so that we can be sure that any issues are not being caused by internal wiring, the face plate or any extension sockets and so it's a crucial step in helping to identify where the issue could be.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks, just to double check and be clear was the router in the test socket when you ran that test?

Re: Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

Master socket with faceplate removed to expose test socket > Microfilter > Router > Ethernet cable > Mac

That is the chain I used for the test. I have used the test socket for years even going back to 2008 and before with plus net. I am a long standing customer. Please no more basic questions, you have the screenshot and the signal chain that was used for the test that produced the screenshot lets have an actual response now please.

I am very aware I have a cooling off period with this upgrade so I would like to see what can be done to improve the speed otherwise I will cancel it and move elsewhere as with black Friday and Christmas coming up there will be deals elsewhere.

Thanks

Re: Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

Sorry to hear that.

Our tests aren't showing any issues or signs of congestion, which may cause slow speeds.

The screenshot you've provided shows you're getting a throughput of 56mbps on target for a line speed of 63mbps your router is in sync at, which is above the estimated speed of 62.7mbps.

Could you advise where you're seeing 24mbps?

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed:57.3Mb.... Getting 24mb

Thanks Gandalf

I really don't think the upgrade was worth it how can I go about reversing it as I am within my cooling off period and going back to my previous deal? Do i need to raise a ticket and if so how can i do that?

Thanks
