Yay finally connected :D

Morning guys.
This is a post relating to this thread, which when I checked got locked   http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,141404.16.html.
Yesterday my fiber was installed finally YAY. I just have a couple of questions.
1) With the engineer there I ran a speed test and pretty much got 80/20. Also confirmed by some game downloads which ran at full tilt. This morning I checked the speed test and I barely hit that. I currently get 20/10. Is this normal whats going on?
2) What MTU is recommended on my router?

That's not normal no, what package are you on?
also run the test here and continue to diagnostics after the actual speedtest and post the stats it gives you.. IP Profile etc
MTU (I believe) would best be 1500 if your router lets you, if not 1492 is fine

make sure you're running the tests wired as as well.

Just a question about the MTU setting.....my router (which is still the Sky router, not due to change to PN till the 11/8) shows the MTU value as 1500, but when I was checking/setting up the xbox one, there was a MTU value showing on there of 1480.....does different devices have different values?
What effect does the have anyway....whether its 1500, 1492 or 1480?

The supplied product on our system hadn't yet updated, I'm just fixing that now. Give me 2 minutes then disconnect/reconnect and try again.

Thanks I noticed it had dropped. It has now come back at 80/20. I have also changed the MTU back to 1500 and all seems ok.
