Will there be new firmware for Sagem router F2704N?

Does anyone know if there are any plans for a firmware update for the lacklustre Sagem routers being shipped for fibre DSL connections? Thinking issues especially like the wifi speeds (periodically dropping off for no obvious reason, requiring at least wifi to be turned off and on again to get going) and over-sticky WPS presenting a security hole, but generally there must be some improvements to be made over an initial 1.0 release by now I'd have thought?

I'll take that as a "no, no-one knows" then. Rather a shame since I believe this is still the default router Plusnet are sending out, and is really not worth the plastic it's cased in.

The default modem / router is now a Hub One, which is a rebadged HomeHub 5

Not an unfair description. Cut your losses and replace it.

The initial firmware version for the Plusnet 2704N router was 7.273.1. There has been one newer firmware release, version 7.275.2. I can't remember what issue(s) it was supposed to fix, it sounds like there are still plenty of bugs needing fixing.

That's interesting. Not seen any notification of any upgrade, and reporting 7.273.1_F2704N_Plusnet.

Do you know if that's proving solid?
Is it worth pestering customer services for a free upgrade given that the F2704N is obviously not fit for purpose?

OK, at my request our router is now updated to 7.275.2. Apparently "should" have happened automatically, by the implication of the tech I chatted online with, but hadn't. Let's see if that makes for any improvement.

Re: Will there be new firmware for Sagem router F2704N?

Pleased to say that since the manual update to 7.275.2_F2704N_Plusnet, we've not had any performance tail-offs on the wi-fi, so hopefully that specifically poor aspect is fixed. We were having to restart every few days to maintain enough wi-fi speed to use even SD iPlayer etc, but not had to do that in a month now.
