Will 10m extension between socket and fibre modem affect performance?

My fibre modem is in my hall with a 1 or 2m RJ11 lead supplied by BT. The problem is it's an older house and I have to run an extension about 5m to it to plug it in.
Will changing the RJ11 lead for a 10m one and moving the modem affect performance?
It made me think as currently my phone line is dead and being fixed Smiley
I thought I'd check and see if anything would degrade.
Cheers!
Paul.

Given that the copper from the fibre cab to your house is probably a good few 100m adding a few more metres should not matter...

Make sure its a good cable though... I brought a RJ45 to RJ11 custom made cable of someone (Mr. Telephone) on ebay which was very good as it was made using cat5e ethernet cable... though he don't seem to be selling anything anymore Sad
I can make them myself now as well!

I should make my own really, but I'd be making one an it's cheaper to get one from ebay Smiley I'll see what it's like when I actually have a working phone line again Cheesy
