WiFi hanging and dropping. Slow speeds and interrupts.

So, i've been with Plusnet for a month or two now. And Its alright at the moment. Better than Virgin Media anyway.
But some issues i've been experiencing are random WiFi hanging issues. This is where i'm using the WiFi on my phone and it randomly just doesn't send my message/not open a webpage/not load an image. But then it will work fine about 30 seconds later. Really annoying.
Also we tend to get really random spikes of slow speeds that last anywhere between 1-10mins, is there any way to stop this as it is quite annoying

As long as you're sure the problem isn't with your phone and is affecting other devices connected to the router too I'd go through some of the advice here:

Is this with the Hub One router?
If so, it's worth logging into the device and changing the 5GHZ wireless network SSID to one that differs from the 2.4GHZ network, users on here have reported issues with the two conflicting.
