Re: WiFi Passwords

Yes, same F/W, and it probably be Bob that advises you when it is pushed - usually around a week later, as this tends to be doe in batches.

Re: WiFi Passwords

That's a shame as my Hub One say's it is broadcasting on 2.4ghz and 5ghz but none of my Wifi devices can see the 5ghz channel. These Hub's are not the best.

Re: WiFi Passwords

I don't think it is necessarily the Hubs fault, but wait until you  get the updated F/W and see if anything changes. TBH, I doubt you will see a massive difference in real-world performance connected to the 5Ghz anyway.

Re: WiFi Passwords

Hello.

When i first got the Hub i was able to connect to the 5ghz with laptop and other devices, Ookla speedtest on 5ghz channel was almost 70mbs. Now stuck on the 2.4ghz channel just over 40mbs, that's a big difference.Screenshot (1).pngScreenshot (2).png

Re: WiFi Passwords

Don't doubt you, but I have considerably higher-specced modem/router and am running two laptops - one is only 2.4Ghz, the other 5, and they both report near-identical figures, to within .2Mbps of each other.

Re: WiFi Passwords

I'm using a Fritz!Box 7530, but please note I'm no longer a PN customer and that box is quite expensive - if you can find a UK-spec one.

Re: WiFi Passwords

Hello.

Well some good news, Plusnet did some work on my Hub last night and today I changed the SSID for the 5Ghz channel and now I am connected on the 5Ghz channel and the speeds have really increased as compared to the 2.4Ghz channel. But will have to wait for the firmware update and see what that does.

Re: WiFi Passwords

@OldFrank Do you know what they did? So far as I know, the .289 F/W release addressed the issue which required the 'splitting' of channels so that, in theory, it should not be necessary.

Re: WiFi Passwords

Hello.

I was told that they changed the channel on the 2.4Ghz, but no changes to the 5Ghz channel but they are still monitoring my broadband connection for a few more days.

Re: WiFi Passwords

Hello

Hub has had Firmware update: Plusnet Hub One | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.289.1.3 | Last updated 17/11/21. Many thanks to @bobpullen. Will do a couple of speed test every day just to see what it like. Will also test on mobile phone and firestick. Many thanks for everyone's help and advice.
