My cabinet is in my garden, literally the other side of my fence so I have a negligible copper run. I have two fibre connections, an 80Mb TalkTalk and what used to be an 80Mb Plusnet.
Same cabinet, I pay the same each month - why has my Plusnet connection been limited to 61.4Mbps when my TT connection clocks in at 80?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

If you have just joined plusnet as a new fibre connection. The reason for 61.4Mbps because the line is open profile for 48 hours before DLM start to kick in to monitor the line at all times. Your line could be G.INP disabled (once DLM has decided to put your G.INP enabled on your line to lift your line to 80Mbps possible in next few days) See my FTTC below when it open profile and after few days it went to full max speed.
FTTC (open profile):
Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.3 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not available on VDSL2
Attenuation rate (kbps): 83026 27648
Connection speed (kbps): 69594 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.2 15.2
Power (dBm): 12.5 -1.3
Interleave depth: 1363 1
INP: 3.00 0
G.INP: Not Enabled Not Enabled
FTTC (after few days with DLM active)
Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 11.3 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not available on VDSL2
Attenuation rate (kbps): 82489 27617
Connection speed (kbps): 79999 19999
SNR margin (dB): 6.7 15.1
Power (dBm): 12.4 -1.3
Interleave depth: 8 1
INP: 48.00 0

Hey @BroadbandUser,
Thanks for reaching out to us here.
I'm sorry you've been having trouble with your speed and I apologise for the frustration caused.
On testing the service today it appears to be banded, I've requested this to be reset - I've also provided more detailed response here on your account.
Thanks.

Thanks Maddy, that has fixed my PN connection, it's now the same speed as my TT line.
Much appreciated!

That's interesting about G.INP @goldenfibre
I've signed up to switch to Plusnet today, with an estimated migration date of 17th Febuary.
I'm currently on Vodfaone superfast 2, and for over a year had a sync of 80/20.
A few months ago the sync dropped overnight to 64/20 for a few weeks and settled at 70/20. It has been like that ever sinse and has never returned to 80/20.
When I first encountered the big drop I started monitoring my router stats. G.INP has always been diabled in all those months and still is. Maybe G.INP could have been enabled for the first year at 80/20 sync, but I have no idea because I never used to check the router stats.
Is it possible that G.INP used to be enabled but no longer is for me?
Do all fibre cabinets have G.INP?
My cabinet has a vendor id of xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx [IFTN]

G.INP Enabled are only those on huawei cabinets as it not available on eci cabinets.
IFTN = Infineon = ECI
BDCM = Broadcom = Huawei
Your cabinet seem on ECI - no G.INP will be on this cabinet.

Thank you so much for your reply and info @goldenfibre
I had a sixth sense this would be the case.
You know, when you can read between the lines and feel it in your bones 🙂
You are a star @goldenfibre . Bless you 🙂
