@deathtrap: fairly certain DLM reset is standard when migrating since BT OR won't know which DLM speed/stability profile or product you're on when they migrate you, they just reset the line.  Plenty of cases of people moving from G.INP to interleaving when they change providers, meaning the line was reset.

As i have migrated FTTC myself i can confirm that no DLM reset takes place. nor is there a loss of sync only PPPOE session was affected , Also any DLM profile changes do cost the ISP .BT Consumer FTTC m is has been suggested that those with  their TV service are put on the middle stability option, where as those without the tv package are put on the same option that plusnet and other isp's are known to use  "speed"

This means you go through the 10 day training period (we all know it's not really ten days, but hopefully you get what I mean).
The 10 day training period on FTTC is a myth  as there is no training period at all. When a FTTC service is first provisioned  it is put on a wide open dlm profile ,and DLM runs all the time your connection is in sync
So at first you will see the maximum sync speeds that your line can support, However if  there are frequent disconnects or the error rates breech the threshold significantly DLM will normally not make any changes until the second day , but it can intervene within the 1st 24hr hours of it deems that necessary

lf2k: Thanks for the feedback.
Just noticed my down sync is now 87k which considering I'm on a 76/19 (which I assume is what people also call 80/20) connection
87000kbps will be the max rate(Attainable rate) which is not your actual sync / data rate  the max rate is only what the modem estimates it could sync at in perfect conditions, this seems to be misreported when interleaving is on by how much depends on the modems chipset ,
The 80/20  are the max sync speeds for the BT Openreach GEA  FTTC product , where as due to asa ISP's advertise  speeds that represent  the max throughput speeds of 10% of their customer base  hence the 76/19 vs 80/20  nothing weird about it  really once you know what they represent

Re: Where's my FASTPATH gone?

Thanks deathtrap.
In your previous post you refer to errors suggesting (I think) they can cause the DLM to kick in. Is there any info on what is considered acceptable or not? Looking at my stats now I have had CRC errors of 42 down and 0 up since the reset yesterday morning and wondered if this was god, bad or Huh

Shows full stats from when i was on fastpath pre G.inp  Which the sort of in depth info needed for others to be able to have any real idea as to what is happening on your connection  the above stats are obtained from an unlocked Huawei HG612  via telnet
There are different types of errors CRC, (ES) Error seconds (SES) serious errored seconds FEC and &HEC error types ,

Re: Where's my FASTPATH gone?

Thanks deathtrap.
Also (after re-reading the blurb) I now realise that I only needed to sent back the HH3 to BT and not the OR modem as well but I doubt they'll return it  Cry

I thought it was very odd, Also BT wanting their hh3 back, the mind boggles why they want them back, as they can't really re use them , Plusnet  can order you a BT modem  you may be lucky and get a huawei

Well as of this morning FastPath is back  Smiley Stats Below. Any idea why the DataRateDown is 15k less than the AttainDown or is that normal? Is there anything I can to to get it higher?
