What's up with my IP Profile?

After returning home from holiday, found my BB speed was very low. measured at approx 7Mbps down. It's normally a "meh" 21Mbps. I did the BT Further Diagnostics and saw my IP Profile had dropped to 7.1 Mbps. It was 25 odd last time I looked.


I spoke too Plusnet who ran tests and said line should be capable of 41.Mbps. PN said they would reset “something” and to reboot the router in half an hour. I did that and tested at 1.4Mbps. Further Diagnostics reports IP Profile now 7.7Mbps

Retests - 7.38 and 7.4  down, so not exactly the performance gain I was looking for.


Plusnet customer support say to retest over 72 hours with filter in test socket. Predictably, this makes no difference, at least initially.


Can anyone tell me what's going on, and what is the fastest way of sorting the issue?

How is your phone line - dial 17070 option 2 from a corded phone?

Sorry to hear your speeds have dropped.

Our tests have found a external fault which we've raised to our suppliers.

We'll update you when we know more.
