As provided!

The poll is  currently showing over 40% on ECI modems and Huawei cabinets, this is shockingly high!

There's probably quite a bit of self-selection going on here.
But it doesn't really matter.
All the poll really needs to show is that the problem passes a threshold of significance so that, on the balance of probabilities, the mismatch has to be the either deliberate, reckless, or negligent doing and responsibility of BT Openreach.
Not a few random accidents.

Re: What is your cabinet/modem combination?

The question is how do you find out what's in which cabinet?

Re: What is your cabinet/modem combination?

One thing that amazes me is that BTO (management) appear to have been blissfully unaware of customers with 'mismatched' modems but surely they have the technology to 'see' what modems are connecting to their cabinets (after all, pretty much anyone with an unlocked modem can see what type of cabinet they're on) so they should be able to quickly ascertain just how widespread this 'issue' is.
@thunderer, does my reply#10 in this thread not answer your question (at least in part)?

Re: What is your cabinet/modem combination?

But I don't have a BTO modem, I have a choice of a Draytek 2850n, a Billion 8800 AXL or a Asus DSL-AC68U (Waiting until I feel well enough to install it!).

Many people won't know whether their cabinet is ECI or Huawei. Is there a better way to tell than comparing your cabinet (if you know where it is) with these pictures?

You could try searching your local council's website for the planning documents relating to the installation of the fibre cabinets. This is mine, for example Smiley

Re: What is your cabinet/modem combination?

I changed my vote to what I was originally supplied (ECI modem on Huawei cabinet) with so as not to skew the results. I bought an HG612 for a tenner and have never looked back.

Re: What is your cabinet/modem combination?

My fitter was a contractor and wanted to use an existing extension cable for the VDSL extension DESPITE me having laid a CAT6 cable terminating at each end of where it had to go.
