What happened to 52/9.4

The infamous email stated speeds of up to 52Mb and up to 9.4Mb on the 1st August.  All that happened was my upload speed dropped.  Will the speed increase in time or is that it?  A speed decrease and a price increase.

There's a large thread on the subject here https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/Is-this-a-mistake/m-p/1346053#U1346053

I assume we'll all get a refund seeing as they seem to have changed the goalposts lol. I suppose we should be eternally grateful the upload speed didn't drop to 2...
Shame, I've been quite happy with PN up to now, but as I am happily out of contract it may be time to look elsewhere.

Re: What happened to 52/9.4

I think this policy has been a disaster for Plusnet. They were happily providing great service at reasonable prices for so many people but now this has thrown a spanner in the works with people confused about all sorts of manners of slow speeds. They should have put the prices up a bit - not moved people from 40/20 to this. So many people will loose 50% of their upload but fail to see any increase in their download due to distance from cab. That is a reduction in service. We are going backwards not forwards with broadband in this country

Totally agree with you.. Plusnet should not have done this decrease in speed and increase their prices. I thinks it's a disgrace. Plus the upload speeds are all over the place most of the time. Really unhappy with them!

Re: What happened to 52/9.4

and you think there wouldn't be the same number of people complaining about a price rise?
if you don't then you are delusional.

as the free market allows, if you are not happy with the service then leave and go to another ISP.
