Weird speed results.

Having upgraded from 40/10 to 80/20 a couple of days ago (ticket 165647846) I thought I'd do a speed check and there's something not right. I have done screen shots.

Firstly, from BTW site

Speed1.jpg

While the up speed is slightly higher (from usual 9.3) download speed is a little less than usual (37)

Test 2 from 'Which' site.

Which speed2.jpg

Not that far from BTW's

Test 3 from OOKLA

ookla speed3.jpg

Note the difference in download?Huh

I couldn't do a 'Further Diagnostics' on BTW as I got error saying 'Timed Out'  Can anyone look into this please?  The speed is far less than expected.

Thanks.

Re: Weird speed results.

Well, here I am again. Done another speed test (using BTW) and it's getting worse..not better.

BTW speed test2.jpg

Slow to say the least, even for a 40/10 never mind 80/20. Has anyone checked this yet? Because there's been no contact from anyone.

All the speed tests done wired, rebooted router, rebooted laptop and checked all this side (as much as I can).

@rongtw

I'm using Google Chrome (latest). Here's the result from the link you gave...and it's not good. Take a look.

ThinkBB speed test.jpg

If this is 80/20, I'll be moving back to 40/10 if this isn't sorted. Day 1 of cooling off period gone and counting. At least on 40/10 I was getting 37/9.3

@Browni

How to find them would also be helpful. Not too sure with homehub1.

From http://192.168.1.254 iirc they're under the troubleshooting->helpdesk tab, make sure to hide any personal info.

Re: Weird speed results.

Yes, it's me again and still no further forward. Speed test done this morning at 08-20 and it's ridiculous.

BTW speed3.jpg

Is this getting looked into?  Ticked_off  I was getting far better results on 40/10, if this is 80/20 then come monday I'll revert back.

Re: Weird speed results.

This test was done wired after rebooting router and changing laptop for borrowed brother-in-law's (just to rule out possible problem with my laptop). I shouldn't have bothered. This test was 12-30 this afternoon.

BT TEST4.jpg

So nothing wrong with my system. Have sent results via the Diagnostics button (3 or 4 times now) and raised a fault ticket. There's been no contact from anyone at Plusnet, I don't know what's being done about these ridiculous speeds (because of the lack of contact) and I'm getting totally pee'd off with it. I'm now thinking of looking for a new supplier because you (plusnet) certainly haven't "Done me proud".  Ticked_off  Ticked_off

Re: Weird speed results.

Just had BT bloke out and during tests found that on his equipment he was getting speeds of 68/19. On MY gear speeds were 27/8. I have changed the filter and getting less than 30 down with 9 up. After looking at router stats (and everything else) he said the problem is probably a faulty router. He noticed that under last update it says 'Unknown'. How do I go about getting the router changed?.

Re: Weird speed results.

Well, here we go again. New router arrived and set up, WIRED connection to laptop, all connections correct and the result?

See for yourself...

Speedtest1.jpg

Sort this PN please..I still have time to cancel if need be. For an 80/20 this is ridiculous. Engineer says socket to cab is fine but I doubt it very much. There is a problem somewhere.
