Was there a brief outage around 4pm?

I'm in Stoke and I'm just hoping my router wasn't playing up.
I rebooted the router, and just saw lots of this in the system log until it finally managed to connect:
Jan  1 00:02:23 pppd[623]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Jan  1 00:03:38 pppd[623]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Jan  1 00:04:53 pppd[623]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

Yes, there was. Apologies for that.
We've posted a service status, though it hasn't affected too many customers.

Those affected by this should be able to get straight back online.

Still down for me. I'd imagine others too looking at the spike in calls.

Thanks.  I've been having a few issues with my Asus router lately which I assumed were related to firmware.  I got really worried that the hardware itself was failing when the internet decided to disappear.
I really need to bookmark the status page.

Thanks for the update - out of curiosity I had a look here http://community.plus.net/ping-graphs/ and it looks like around 10 out of 72 of us were affected which would be around 13-14% of PNs broadband customers (a rough figure as that relies on the graphs being representative - so it may be a little more or less than that).

Re: Was there a brief outage around 4pm?

Well I couldn't get straight back on. I had no connection to gateway 195.166.130.141, so dropped but no ppp reconnect. Rebooted router still no ppp, took about 10-15 min to connect.

Re: Was there a brief outage around 4pm?

I had it too, lost connectivity for 10-15'. During which time I checked the PC for a Win 10 update, a router issue and so I went through the whole lot turning everything off one at a time & restarting!
I now find that it's a network fault.  Roll_eyes

Re: Was there a brief outage around 4pm?

Hmm strange - the Service status suggests that PN are treating things as a ppp login issue, yet I was able to authenticate almost straight away (and had a green 'internet' light on my router) - it still took a while after this to get a through route all the way to the big wide world beyond PNs servers. The router's own 'test connection' option on the webmin interface confirmed this.

Re: Was there a brief outage around 4pm?

Yep. My router still had it's DSL connection light on, that's why initially I thought it may have been one of Windoze 10's auto updates that disconnected it for some reason, so I rebooted the PC and it still didn't come back, so I started my check list and then found it had come back on again.

I'm still offline. Got fed up and rebooted the router and modem and still no dice Sad
