VLAN ID for Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X on Fibre?

Hi,

I tried to set up the PPPoE connection on the ER-X, but it failed to connect over the fibre connection. I had set the VLAN ID as 10 before I was aware of https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/#what-settings-should-i-use-for-fi....

As I can only set one VLAN ID, should I be setting 101 or 0?  I don't know whether it will be 802.1q or 802.p.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Dave

Re: VLAN ID for Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X on Fibre?

Given that I've only seen VLAN ID 101 working on Plusnet PPPoE, I would go with 101.

Ubiquiti support forum has an item where they use VLAN ID 7  on the PPPoE connection https://community.ubnt.com/t5/EdgeRouter/PPPoe-vlan-tagging/td-p/2487143 to give you some idea of the required steps.

That's awesome - I hadn't hit that post previously. Many thanks @SpendLessTime. I'll give it a shot and update the post.

Re: VLAN ID for Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X on Fibre?

Fix

So, I tried 101, but that didn't work either. Neither did 0. So I tried without setting a VLAN ID, and it connected and picked up the static IP.  All working fine now.

Many thanks.
