Used to get fast broadband, now it’s slow

I started testing our broadband speed in 2018.

Until Jan 2019 it was typically 25mb
It then dropped to 17mb and has stayed there since.

From memory it was around 2019 that we got Fibre to the cabinet.

We have a cabinet about 50m from our house, but are connected to another cabinet about a mile away.

Any ideas why my speed as dropped and if anything can be done to improve it?

I’ve tried switching router but that made no difference.

Thanks

Re: Used to get fast broadband, now it’s slow

@RobertClark  Welcome to the forum

Chance are it’s the result of crosstalk on the multi core cable feeding your local phone line distribution box. This is the result of more and more homes being connected to the broadband network. Over the last few years I have lost about 10Mbps. The only real solution is for broadband from FTTC to be replaced with FTTP.
