Hello Plusnet. Here are my estimated speeds from my account
Unlimited Fibre£14.99◊
per month
Unlimited Usage Allowance
24.7Mb download speed (estimated)
5.5Mb upload speed (estimated)
So downstream I'm getting nearer to 40 so happy days there. Upstream though my router indicates the line is capable of 8, but I seem to be capped at 2. My account indicates I should be getting around 5.5 so is there a profile set on the line capping it?

Plusnet's current unlimited fibre product has a maximum download speed of 40Mb and a maximum upload speed of 2Mb so you appear to be getting the maximum speed for the product chosen.
Some other ISP's have chosen to provide a 40/10 product but Plusnet appears to have decided to compete directly with TalkTalk in supplying a 40/2 product.

When did you order your upgrade to fibre? Unlimited fibre used to be 40/20 and was changed to 40/2 on about 17th June. If you ordered before then you can insist on being put on the 40/20 version.

It would have been in February when I placed the order when I moved house. How would I determine if I was indeed eligible? I thought it was 'up to 10' upstream TBH.

You've been diddled! You should be on 40/20. I suggest raising a complaint: https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=wizard&page=22909&wizard_id=38

40/20 was replaced by 40/10 for a while before being knocked all the way down to 40/2.
Unless mdph25 has re-contracted recently (unlikely since only having a house move in Feb) or has changed their phone package they'd likely be on 40/10.
Any change of any part of PN service will result in being knocked down to 40/2.
