Upstream banded profile

My modem is reporting an upstream sync speed of 8.823 Mbps.
Doing lots of different speed tests (all wired), it seems to max out around the 7.1 Mbps mark.
If I understand correctly, my speed should be in the region of 96.79% of the sync speed, which would be around 8.53 Mbps.
I did notice that there are upstream banded profiles for FTTC, and one of these is 3.6M to 7.2M.
Would someone from Plusnet be able to confirm if I am on that banded upstream profile please?
Other question - will DLM eventually increase this profile to match the sync speed?
Thanks for any replies.

Re: Upstream banded profile

Your currently on a open profile so DLM isn't the cause of the issue.
Your profile is "0.128M-80M Downstream, Interleaving Low - 0.128M-20M Upstream, Interleaving On"
I think the upload throughput might be a bit lower due to interleaving being on but it shouldn't cause any major issues.

Re: Upstream banded profile

Thanks for the prompt reply Matthew. That's fine, I just wanted to make sure. The upstream isn't causing me any issues but curiosity got the better of me.

Re: Upstream banded profile

Thats about right if you look at mine, I get a slightly better upstream if I force my downstream to 28mbps, then I get about 6.5mbps upstream but I prefer the faster downstream in all honesty.
I think those figures are correct!
[tt]http://www.theunitconverter.com/data-storage-conversion/
Connection speed (kbps):   43999      6836
40/20
Capped DS 40960X96.79=39645 38.71 I get 37.50
Upstream  6836x96.79=6616  6.4  I get  5.80[/tt]

Thanks 11110_110
Out of curiosity, how do you 'force' your downstream speed?
