Upload speeds down by 75%

We switched from ADSL to Fibre to the Cabinet ADSL. Pleased. Download speeds always a good 30Mbps or more. Upload speeds the same, which is great as I do a lot of uploading.

Noticed a few days ago uploads had slowed roight down (I use the Speedtest app). Now they are constanly one quarter of what they were, at a hopeless 8Mbps.

What happened? And please can you sort this out.

Thanks

Re: Upload speeds down by 75%

@JeremyP99  FTTC is not a symmetric service. The upload is typically approximately 25% of the download speed. That's why there are 80/20 and 40/10 variants of FTTC. You have never had 30Mbps upload speed, it is impossible. Your hopeless 8Mbps upload is exactly as expected and the best you are going to get.😁

Re: Upload speeds down by 75%

Wrong. As noted, my upload speeds matched the 30+ download speeds for some months until I guess a couple of weeks back.

Sorry. I upload stuff all the time and was delighted at the uoload speeds. Now not so. Real world evidence ssays you can do better!

Unfortunately it is you that have not grasped the limitation of FTTC upload. Can you show any proof of 30Mbps upload, I doubt it.

@JeremyP99  If you enter your phone number in the DSL Checker and post the results here you will be able to see what your line is capable of, and how it is currently performing.

Re: Upload speeds down by 75%

Oddly, no I don't take a screen shot every day. However, I worked in IT and networking, and I know my upload speeds have quartered, both from using Speedtest on and off, and doing regular uploads to such as OneDrive and Mediafire. Now worries,we hould have proper fiber broadband here soon, and we'll be gone.

@JeremyP99, @ReadAleMadrid is correct and doing what @Mustrum suggests will prove this to you.

I've done a line test for you and the sync rates are exactly right for the product you are on.
