Upload speed increase has now decreased!

I had the email a few weeks ago to say my upload speed would be increasing; day before yesterday I noticed my router stats showed it had gone from 1999Kbps to 9999Kbps, but speed test didn't show any increase but I thought no big deal, it will take time.

Today I notice my router stats show upload speed back to 1999Kbps; can anyone explain what's happening?!

TIA

Edited to add that router stats today now shows 9999Kbps again, but speed test still doesn't reflect that. Ah well, onwards and upwards!

Just to update this; my upload speed has been showing 2296Kbps for the last couple of days. Anybody from support able to comment please?

Re: Upload speed increase has now decreased!

You will only get a speed increase if your line will support it. What does www.dslchecker.bt.com say regarding speed capability?

Re: Upload speed increase has now decreased!

Yes I'm aware of that but as I'm only about 200 yards from the cabinet the stats say my line is capable of 87 down and 36 up so 9.5 should be achievable I would have thought.

Re: Upload speed increase has now decreased!

Hi there. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing speed problems.

Testing your line isn't finding the cause of that.

Description GEA service test completed and no fault found .
Main Fault Location OK
Sync Status In Sync
Downstream Speed 40.0 Mbps
Upstream Speed 2.7 Mbps
Voice Line Test Result Pass

I'd run through the troubleshooting here and if you don't see an improvement, please report a fault to us at http://faults.plus.net so we can further investigate.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
