Upload dropped to 2Mb

My usually very stable connection had a couple of resync's this afternoon.
As I have an ECI modem that I can't be bothered to unlock I have to rely on the BT performance test to see what my line is syncing at.
My download is still where it usually is at around 36Mb but my upload has dropped from the usual 6 to 7Mb to 2Mb. I am on the 40/20 product.
My reported upload profile is still 20Mb so is it safe to assume this is a fault and not PlusNet moving me to the new 40/2 product without informing me.
I am out of contract and have not had any contact from PlusNet.
Any insight into this would be appreciated.
Dave
UPDATE
Forget above, I have just run another test and upload back to normal - not sure what the problem was but it's fixed itself.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Hi Mathew,
I think I spoke too soon - down to 0.2Mb now.
No resyncs since yesterdays.
TBB quality monitor also showing constant packet loss and web browsing very slow.

Can you send me the link to your TBB graph?

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Thanks.
Our testing isn't showing any issues although I suspect it could be errors on the line causing this.
I'd recommend raising a fault here https://faults.plus.net and putting the link to your TBB graph in the notes section.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

OK Matthew fault raised.
I'll run a few BT speed test during the day.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Well it took 2 days for anyone to have a look at the problem but by then the problem disappeared.
It's now back again, packet loss and upstream down to 0.5Mb.
I'll raise another fault but I guess by the time its looked at it will probably clear again.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

I've seen the snapshot graph and it doesn't look pretty.
We'll get it picked up as soon as we can.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Has a check been made for high background usage?

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Definitely not a problem with background usage.
The packet loss slowly increased during the night when nothing in the house that uses the internet was active.
It got so bad that the router dropped the PPP session but the modem appeared to maintain sync.
Here is a link to the snapshot of the TBB graph.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/deca0d197f38b97cf3871d2c0a1b060d-28-11-2015.html
A reboot of the modem in the morning cleared the problem and it hasn't returned.
Due to the intermittant nature of this fault i suspect this could go in for some time.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Ouch!
That doesn't look like high usage as that usually shows up as increased latency (yellow).
I hadn't seen the graph with the red before.

Re: Upload dropped to 2Mb

Well 4 days after reporting the fault I have just had a reply and guess what - no fault found.
That's hardly surprising as its been ok since rebooting the modem Saturday morning.
Could they not at least suggested some diagnostic tests to try when it occurs again in an attempt to track this down.
My thoughts, which are probably wrong, is that as sync is maintained during the 'event' then the line to the cab is probably ok but as a reboot of the modem cleared the fault could it be a faulty modem or perhaps at the DSLAM?
Any opinion anyone...
