Upgrading to fibre with own router and modem

I updated to Fibre Broadband using a Draytek Vigor 2830vn router which I understood to be compatible. My problem was that while the router was ok with vDSL the modem I used was not. Be aware that both pieces of kit should be compatible when upgrading with your own kit

Thanks for the post. I'd definitely recommend looking at a combined VDSL modem/router if anyone is considering using their own hardware.
