Upgrading to Fibre within contract?

Hello, I'm asking this about somebody else's account, not mine.

 

A family member is on basic phone and broadband, 12 month contract, taken out in May this year. She paid a large amount upfront under the 'Line Rental Saver' scheme, and pays a smaller amount each month to cover call costs etc.

 

Is it possible for her to upgrade to Fibre or Fibre Extra within the 12 month contract period, and will that trigger any cancellation/similar charges, since it's an upgrade? And if upgrading is OK, what happens about the chunk of money she paid upfront under the Line Rental Saver scheme?

Fix

Plusnet will allow the upgrade in exchange for starting a new contract again from scratch. Note that if this was a new customer contract in May then there may not be the same level of discount available on the re contracting but it's worth haggling.  Line rental saver is unaffected.
