Hello
I'm hoping someone can see this and help me get it sorted.
I upgraded on the 8th Jan to the unlimited Fibre Extra plan and there has been no change in my download speed. Curiously my up load speed has doubled.
Anyone be able to give me some advice please:)

This topic has been moved from ADSL Broadband to Fibre Broadband.

Same thing has happened to me.
My minimum Guaranteed Speed shows as 62.3Mbps yet my Current Line Speed (Download) is set at 40Mbps for some reason therefore im not getting any increase in download speed from what I was getting before.
BT Wholesale test says:
For your connection, the maximum achievable download speed is 70.79 Mbps
IP Profile for your line is 70.79 Mbps
So its Plusnet who are limiting the speed and need to do something their end to remove the restriction.

Hi there, thanks for your response.
I just did the BT Wholesale test and it says I am reaching 36.81Mbps and acceptable is between 27.1 - 38.72.
My IP Profile is 38.72
Does this mean that I am incapable of reaching the speeds that unlimited Fibre Extra says I can?
In which case there is no point me paying the extra.
Any help greatly received

Anybody?
If these are the speeds I am keeping then fine, but I would just to know so I can stop wasting my time trying to figure it out.
I am hoping your collective wisdom comes through for me

Difficult to say based on the information you’ve given. What are the estimates of your line at http://broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com
Also have you raised a fault?

Your line can achieve between 73mbps and 80mbps so there’s definitely an issue somewhere.
Try plugging your router into the test socket https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Testing-From-The-Master-Socket/ba-p/1322242
Failing that you’d likely need an Openreach engineer to investigate further

Posting the table above using your phone number would reveal more information.
As well as the test socket, log into the router and go to the Advanced/Troubleshooting/Help Desk tab and post the results before and after the test socket - make sure you hide sensitive info.

Thanks for your info
I have never removed a faceplate before, is it a simple procedure ? I am not likely to ruin anything am I?

OK.......
So i removed the faceplate of what I assumed was the master socket (as the landlord told me it was the only one in the house that work - after I moved in!). Anyway, I removed the faceplate and there was no test socket behind it.
