Upgraded to 80/20 no change in upload speed

It's been 2-3 weeks since my upgrade from 40/10 to 80/20 and while I have an increased download speed (albeit near the lower end) the upload speed has remained the same at 9 - 10 Mbps which is below my new estimate.

In lieu of carrying out full tests over the weekend (quiet line, BT speed test, test socket, LAN to router, router stats) I wonder if it's possible to do an initial check on my account to see if there's anything awry.

I've attached the results of the Broadband Availability Checker

Re: Upgraded to 80/20 no change in upload speed

Re the above, I have a static IP (purchased) if it's relevant.

@1066_1066  A static IP will have no effect on your sync speeds which are rather low for the estimates, the upload at 9.63Mbps is below the minimum impacted range figure. How are you connecting the router is it direct to the incoming master socket? Is it a filtered faceplate? You could try the test socket to see if that improves the speeds. Really need to see the router stats to see if they give any clues to why the speeds are low.

Thank you@RealAleMadrid , router is currently connected via an extension so I'll connect to the test socket and do the necessary tests over the weekend and post back.

Re: Upgraded to 80/20 no change in upload speed

@1066_1066  you are never going to get the best speeds if using an extension socket. In the early days of FTTC openreach would come and fit a filtered master socket along with a modem.

Your line may already be banded, so speed testing may not give your expected results, plus the DSL checker does not update every day. So if you take a copy of the Help Desk tab, in the advanced then troubleshooting tab, where the router is now, and then in the test socket you should see differences in sync and attainable speeds.

Re: Upgraded to 80/20 no change in upload speed

Hi @1066_1066. Thanks a lot for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having with your upload speed.

I've run some tests on the line this afternoon which have not picked up  on any issues with the broadband service - other than the speed, though a disconnection on the line has been detected with the phone (PSTN) service. I've now raised this with Openreach and we're hoping to have it sorted by 24/08/2021.

You can both view and comment on the open fault Ticket here should you need to.
