Re: Unsatisfied Customer

The results from the Samknows box suggest that your profile is close to what it was, and the slower speed is due to some congestion at peak times somewhere between you and Plusnet. It could be at the Cab, Cab to exchange,  or exchange to an aggregation point, in fact anywhere on BTw's backbone network.
Have a look here to see if there is any information about your exchange. (Ignore the date at the top - when the page was created - look at the "reported" & Last updated dates).

Re: Unsatisfied Customer

So your exchange isn't (currently) on the list, but that doesn't mean there aren't problems elsewhere. Speeds currently within predicted ranges as well. I'd hope one the the Plusnet CRT could take a quick look tomorrow just to make sure there's no issues from Cab to exchange etc, that they know of.
PS.You'd better stop "Full Quoting" of immediately preceding posts, you'll have the mods on your tail. There is a Reply button and a Quick Reply box when replying directly to the last post or not needing to quote a specific part of a post.
And that mod must be just round the corner from you  Grin

@Strat - Do you know where cabinet 12 is and if its a eci cabinet or huawei please? also my ip profile has gone back to 77.2 even though it was 78 but can't complain because most days I'm getting 72-74 downstream :-)

Re: Unsatisfied Customer

At a guess it should be somewhere within about 500m of you. I don't know if Strat has seen your post yet Wink

Re: Unsatisfied Customer

http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/cabinet-lookup.htm may be of some help. I don't know if Terranova667 has a link for finding specific cabinets. Yes it is Sheffield btw.

Re: Unsatisfied Customer

I use code look to get the info which the Kitz site mentions.
finding the make of the cab and install dates using the site is fine but  finding the location of it can be hit and miss as it doesn't give an exact location just a general idea based on the postcode it has for the cab so you may still need to walk around to  try and find it.

Re: Unsatisfied Customer

Hit and miss is the word Shocked  Locations are not at all accurate for our area, that's unusual for Magenta Systems, they are usually pretty accurate on other stuff.

Re: Unsatisfied Customer

Cabinet 12 appears to be on Atlantic road but I don't know how far that is from your property.
