Unlimited Fibre but old ADSL speeds?

Hi,

I upgraded to Unlimited Fibre a couple of days ago and set up my router yesterday without any probs, even managed to do some advanced bits to rename the WiFi and passwords so they were the same as before.

However just been checking line speeds with various online checkers and they all say my speeds are the same as they were on ADSL?  i.e. 6.92 Mbps download, 0.86 Mbps upload. What's going on?

Re: Unlimited Fibre but old ADSL speeds?

That says it should be 40Mbps. I suspect Openreach haven't done their bit despite PN sending me the go for it email?

More than likely your profile hasn't been updated correctly to account for the change. Happened to me recently but they were quick to resolve.

On the BT checker is there any mention of an open order?

No mention of an open order on the checker?

@mallah

I can see you called in recently, we're taking a look at your account now hopefully can give you an update in the next 30 minutes or so.

Really sorry but it looks like there are no orders placed here, it looks like there are some problems as some systems suggest fibre is available and some that it is not, we've placed a ticket into our provisioning team to investigate and we will monitor it and let you know exactly what's going on.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

@mallah It's unlikely to be fixed tomorrow, I'll aim to get an update by Monday

Could you try disconnecting and reconnecting and let me know if you're still experiencing speed issues now please.

Re: Unlimited Fibre but old ADSL speeds?

Thanks, that appears to have improved things as attached - not quite reached the promised 40mbps min but I'll keep trying at different times.

Re: Unlimited Fibre but old ADSL speeds?

The service is capped at a maximum of 40Mbps (Advertised at up to 38Mbps) on Unlimited Fibre, however if you're testing over wireless 33Mbps might just be because the speeds would be lower over wireless compared to a wired connection.
