Trying to use OpenDNS with TP-Link TL-WR841N modem

I'm wanting to connect to OpenDNS so that I can set-up stronger parental controls and track website pages that have been accessed via my internet connection. I know that this is not possible with the Plusnet router so I bought a TP-Link TL-WR841N but I'm having problems connecting to Plusnet when I try to set the Dynamic IP addresses to the OpenDNS ones. When I connect using PPPoE I an connect to Plusnet by as soon as I set the WAN Connection Type to Dynamic IP I loose the connection. Not sure what I'm doing wrong

Should just be a case of changing the settings in the DHCP section .. Manual

I see DD-WRT  has an image for that router as well.

Lets be very clear here so there is no doubt! that is a router you have not a Modem.

So you need to use a modem in front of it first... a VDSL modem.

Just in case the OP is not sure what sort of modem is required, an Openreach Huawei or ECI modem is probably the easiest and cheapest to obtain.

The can be found on Ebay, for example:
