Throughput / download / upload

Hello, 

 

I was wondering if someone could check my speed profile, my download and upload speeds (via ethernet) are lower than I would expect from my sync speed

I've done some tests on the BTW Performance tester and logged it against my number

Download speed
achieved during the test was - 62.64 Mbps
 For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 40 Mbps-64.59 Mbps .
 Additional Information:
 IP Profile for your line is - 64.59 Mbps

 

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 14.34Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Hi Steve,

Our tests aren't showing any definitive causes for the slow throughput. However I've got a feeling it may be a stuck profile this side so I've reseated the profile, could you reboot your router letting us know how your speed looks after? 

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Thanks for the quick response, I've rebooted etc and done some more tests, the download spped has now improved but the upload speed is a little on the low end.

 

Download speed
achieved during the test was - 69.12 Mbps
 For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 40 Mbps-72.46 Mbps .
 Additional Information:
 IP Profile for your line is - 72.46 Mbps

Upload speed
 achieved during the test was - 12.06Mbps
 Additional Information:
 Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Thanks for getting back to us @stevetoza

I'm afraid we can't see any obvious cause for this. Our tests are showing that your routers upstream sync is 20mbps so you should be getting higher speeds than what you're currently seeing.

Can you confirm if you've been testing over a wired connection with nothing running in the background?

I've been testing over wired and theres nothing in the background. I'll monitor it over the next couple of days and see if it improved and I'll report back.
