Think I might have the wrong profile again...

Hi,

As seems to happen every few months, my download speed has dropped dramatically. I'm on an 80/20 package and sync at about 75/19. Normally downloads are close to capacity.
Checking the BT site my bras is correct.
Currently downloading at 2MB/s
Please can someone check and reset my profile.

Not sure if anyone did anything but it seems to be back to normal now thanks

Hi Harry,

 

can you help me now please. I'm downloading from newsgroups and while my speeds are normally about 8.0MB/s, currently it is about 2.0MB/s

I wonder have newsgroup downloads been re prioritised?

 

I've run a speedtest and that's showing about 8MB/s so it's clearly not that.

 

Any ideas please?

I can't see anything on your account that would cause such a drastic drop and I don't believe the prioritisation on our side would cause this either.

 

It may be worth checking with the newsgroups provider to see if they've changed anything (Like putting a cap on speeds from their side etc.) a colleague has also advised looking in to/changing the amount of threads you have on it.

well, in another amazing coincidence it seems to have corrected itself again. All very odd. We did have a power cut on Saturday night - perhaps it was something to do with that?

 

I'll keep monitoring...
