Technicolor TG582n VPN Issue

I'm having real issues connecting to my work VPN through the above router.
I got my work tech support to log on and try it, but they couldn't figure it out. the only thing they found was the error was too vague to pin to a specific issue and by looking at various boards that its a known issue with this router.
it failed using windows 7 & 8 with the plusnet software security firewall off and on  ,  I'm just setting a standard vpn connection and entering my login details.
its definatley not the vpn (works for other people not on plusnet fibre)

just been on chat with plusnet and they dont support advanced networking issues (which I find a bit strange but there you go) and the lady directed here
HELP!!

Re: Technicolor TG582n VPN Issue

failed to unbind
tried bind and it accepted then unbind and it accepted.. looks like it was already unbound Sad

looking at the settings they left, rather than auto they had it on PPTP

It was already unbound on some versions of firmware.
Just going back to this  comment earlier...

Did you disconnect and reconnect your ppp session after making any changes. The changes only take effect after the session is re-established.
