Actually the router is less than 24 inches from the wi-fi adapter, but there is a brick wall between them.

Drill a hole through the wall and use a ethernet cable. Cheesy

Re: Tablet fast, PC slow??

If it's a single brick wall you could knock a hole through the mortar large enough for the ethernet plug with a blunt screwdriver. Cool_smiley

Re: Tablet fast, PC slow??

Is the Experian connecting at 5Ghz while the PC is using 2.4Ghz (assuming you have a dual band router).

Check the level of interference (other people's WiFi) on 2.4 GHz.

Get a 5Ghz dongle for the PC.

I think this is the solution.

The wall is actually a cavity wall being the old outer wall of the house. My PC is in an extension.

Ideally, that's the way forward.

Alternatively, I agree with bmc in that a set of powerline adapters may come in handy in this situation.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
