So my mam has a ASUS N66U router and when i connect her laptop to it via ethernet it all works fine, also wifi works fine too for the laptop and xbox360 thats setup there.
For the last 6 months they have been using TP link power line adaptors for other rooms in the house with pc/consoles... and 3 days ago the adapters stopped working and showing up with the following error ( Ethernet dont have a valid ip configration ).
Nothing has changed with the router and no one has touched it, the only thing i know is that my parents have had a couple of power outtages in the last month.
Im not sure to why these adapters are not connecting anymore, can anyone shed light on why this might be happening and what those errors mean ?

yes and each time it shows the following error ( ethernet dont have a valid ip configration ) when i looked at the details it said ( no connection to ipv4 and ipv6).
Strange thing is all 3 adapters were bought from different shops and different times, seams very odd they all read same error, makes me wonder if its a problem with the router.

I had a pair of those and one of them failed.
Model number of mine was TA-PL211 - see Amazon link
I wouldn't trust them if I were you.

PS. I replaced the powerline adapters with an ethernet cable (Cat6 iirc).
Assuming you can't run cables I would try this:
- Unplug all three powerline adapters and stick labels on them - A, B, C.
- Plug only two in (A and B) and try it.
- If the fault doesn't reoccur C is faulty.
- If the fault does reoccur swap A for C and retry.
- If the fault doesn't reoccur A is faulty.
- If it does reoccur swap B for A and try again.
- If the fault doesn't reoccur B is faulty.
- If it does reoccur either 1) the fault is not caused by the adapters or 2) more than one adapter is faulty.
NB. In case I've made a mistake in my lettering, check first using 3 bits of paper marked A, B, C.

It could be either. The only way to find out is change the router for a known-good one - if the fault is still present then try my test on the adapters.
