Hi All
ive just purchased a TP-LINK TD-W9980 N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit VDSL2/ADSL2+ Modem Router to replace my TG582 and BT openreach. do i need any settings from the TG582 to configure on my new TP link. if so how do i get them.
im presuming a username and password must be embedded in the TG582 along with the settings

Yep just your log in details make sure the VPI/VCI is set to 101 it's a good idea to update the firmware as well, fixes speed issues on some lines.

Keep us updated on the router. I'm thinking of ditching my TG582 in the near future.

I agree with Den 1,changed to the TP-link 9980 a couple of weeks ago,no need to update,it was already on latest s/w,only username and password to be entered. Most impressed,no more BT modem, and decent wireless!

I've been using the TPlink for over a year now. With the tg582 I couldn't even get a working signal IN THE NEXT ROOM. With the TP-link I have no issues anywhere inside the house.
Latest f/w just needs you to select PN as the isp and put the user/password in, it sets up everything else, the VC change was only needed before the new f/w.
