I had exactly the same - a small "red curtain" starting on Friday. I was also having some connection problems yersterday, although only on my laptop, other devices appeared to be connecting normally.
Very odd as I'm on FTTP which is usually "clean". So after an afternoon spent trying to debug my network, at around 5pm there was a sudden red "spike" on the graph to about 20% packet loss; after that everything is clear!

OK, thanks folks. Again, very helpful.
We think we've spotted the cause of the problem (seems that one of the interfaces on pcl-cr02 is misbehaving).
We're going to take it out of service early tomorrow morning. It would be appreciated if those of you still seeing the packet loss can avoid disconnecting/reconnecting so we can see if the issue clears once the change is made.

It seems I got caught up in all this, I suspected my Hub-One to be at fault so I changed setup a few days ago to a combination of (a trusted) HG612 Modem and Hub-One as Router.
Hub-One seems to be loosing dsl more than I would like which Is causing my long line to be very Unstable.
Graphs with Red Line match my recent session drop.
04:47:19, 19 Oct. (158326.660000) PPPoE is down after 2637 minutes uptime [Disconnected]
04:47:16, 19 Oct. (158324.310000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [PPPoE PADT received]
@bobpullen If I change back to my Hub-One In a week or so and it still looses the DSL connection, would it be possible to get another Hub-One from you to test if it is related to chip specific problems by chance? or maybe the vdsl side is just borked!
I don't see anything odd in the stats (posted below) so far, but then I'm no expert.

@bobpullen: It looks like whatever was done (about 1am) worked. I still go through (pcl-bng01 and) irb.16.pcl-cr02.plus.net, and (at least) the BQM red curtain has lifted. Thanks!

That would explain the complaints of "the internet's broken" from those in the house still working /gaming just before 1am this morning. By the time they had woken me up it was back
