I'm going to try something as a test.

Can you reboot your router when you can next and let us know how it goes?

I can...do you need to know in advance when it will happen?

Nope. Just reboot and let us know how it goes. Smiley

Re: Switched from BT and throughput has dived

Did a resync before work today.

No real time to test properly yet. I did do a speed test which, same as before, perfectly ok for the sync rate. Slight increase in ping and same sync connection speed as before.

Sorry, not sure if there was some test you were doing or what I was meant to report back.

Sync rate is the same at 38.55
That's not a banded rate is it?

Re: Switched from BT and throughput has dived

I probably should’ve mentioned this earlier, but after rebooting your router, are you still experiencing buffering whilst streaming?

No worries if you’ve not had a chance to watch anything yet. Smiley

Re: Switched from BT and throughput has dived

Apologies, I thought some behind the scene test was going to happen.

Will do some streaming and then update. Need to change back to default DNS for a proper test then.

Re: Switched from BT and throughput has dived

Thanks for checking in!

I wanted to do more tests before commenting but I'm having limited success now.

WiFi streaming is far better but still using alternative DNS settings. Want to try with default ones just to rule that out.

Powerline plugs buffer when streaming so suspect they might be on their way out.

Still need to do some regular downloads to check on those too.

Hopefully things are better then now. Just waiting for DLM to increase the sync to something similar to past experiences now.

Re: Switched from BT and throughput has dived

Hi there. We've recently made a change to our network which should mean you shouldn't be experiencing streaming issues anymore with your connection back to how it was, so I've moved it back.

Can you let me know if the issues return?

Re: Switched from BT and throughput has dived

Thanks, will do.

Been out of UK since Christmas and only returned this week so not much chance of checking.

Last couple of days seem ok and I did notice there was a resync 2 days ago.... perhaps that was you then?

Just wish I could sync at the rate the line is showing capable of, it's still a fair whack off what it claims and what I was getting prior to the switch.

Ah ok no worries, have a good Christmas?

It's unlikely, until today I've not looked at your account since before the new year.

Just wish I could sync at the rate the line is showing capable of, it's still a fair whack off what it claims and what I was getting prior to the switch.

It looks like your sync rate of 38mbps is within your estimates/expectations of your line (35mbps to 49mbps).

At the moment, I'm more interested in the throughput side of things when you're streaming. Don't worry about running any tests or do anything to go out of your way. Just let me know if you encounter any problems with your normal use etc.
