Strong and Stable Connection...not

I have a Hub One and Fibre Broadband and regularly get about 7Mbps download and about 0.5 upload speeds (I'm a long way from the exchange or even the street cabinet - so I'm not complaining about this, at least not today).

Although this speed is considerably better than my previous supplier before May 2107 (T**k T**k), the connection within the house is not as, ahem, strong and stable as it used to be.  On mobile devices particularly, it often drops the connection and I just have an exclamation mark next to the WiFi icon.  The router is at one end of the house and there are a few thick walls but the connection is noticeably weaker and more unstable than it used to be.  I've got a wifi-extender thingy to stretch things to the end of the house furthest from the router.

I've looked at some of the other threads on here and to be honest am a bit overawed by the technical knowledge on display.  My question is: is there something SIMPLE I could do to try to improve the situation?  Is it to do with the router? Just assume I know nothing about how the router etc works and you won't be far wrong.

Re: Strong and Stable Connection...not

Hi there,

I would recommend following the steps in this help guide as your next step: https://goo.gl/Bw9Upq

If that doesn't help changing wireless channels on the router is likely to we also have a step by step guide for that here: https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/router-user-guides/ just follow the link for "how do I check or change my Wi-Fi settings"

Do keep us posted

Adam
