Stickiness of IP addresses

Hi,

Having moved from BT to Plusnet, the stickniess of the dynamic Ip addresses is a joke.  40 minutes disconnected and it still gives me the same IP address.

Any tips on how I can get a new one from the pool when I want one or has it been like this since reading on this forum about the "new network".

The router is rubbish as well - luckily held onto the Smart Hub 6.

Yes the IP addresses are sticky these days, try leaving it disconnected for a couple of hours.

Yes the Samarthub 6 is better than a Plusnet Hub One, which is a Home Hub 5a with tweeked firmware.

Shame I signed up now if they are that sticky.  Should not have gone for the cheap option - well cheaper.  Nothing is cheap these days.

I believe being disconnected for 65 minutes or more should do the trick.

I don't know why you want to change IP addresses but I guess that using a VPN would resolve your issue. For browsing when I don't want to leave an IP address trail behind I use a free VPN browser extension. Windscribe will give you 10GB per month free and has both Chrome and Firefox versions. I select the end IP address as UK and have no issues with it. When not needed I just switch it off.

Leaving it for that long might work, but for certain parts of the network you'll probably be reassigned the same IP, or at the least from a very similar group of IPs.
