Why have I got a static IP?, I didn't pay or request one!

Plus my router is restarting everyday around midnight.

@Menace65 IP's are 'sticky' these days since they are allocated locally from small pools. So if your router is only disconnected for a short time, then there's a good chance you will get the same IP

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Thanks, the pool must be one IP address, I've had the same IP for the last two months or more, it's not a big deal, was just curious.

So why is my router restarting everynight if I have a static IP?

I really don't know why it's restarting. Does the event log give any indication ?
