Speed has dropped from 41 to 3 again

My download speed has been pretty stable since the last problem in September at 41 Mbps.  IP profile is 45.86 Mbps.  Since yesterday the speed has dropped to 3 ish.  I have attached the latest BT speedtest results.

 

Can somebody help?

Well good news is the BTW IP profile is still as it should be so it's not a line / cab Sync issue the speed hasn't dropped there, It could be at plusnets end with their profile what does it say here  https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

it's Current line speed your looking for and it should be the same as the BTW IP profile give or take a few KB, if it's not online chat should be able to reset it for you. 

if that's not the issue then it could be the Network issues that have been going on that was supposed to be fixed

Hi there,

From checking your line it appears the SVLAN is currently over capacity, this means you're likely to see performance issues particularly at peak times. These are often resolved by our suppliers within a few working days so I'll leave the ticket with our faults team to test again.

I have no idea what an SVLAN is.  I am not experiencing any performance issues at peak times.  My download speed has been between 36 and 41 since the last problem with your service in September.  Since Friday afternoon 25.11.16 my download has been around 3 Mbps and the upload 2 ish.  I have tested with ethernet and wifi and all times of the day and night and it is always the same.  The latest BTW test is attached.  Both my wife and myself need the internet for work.  I am paying for 55/10 and getting 3/2.  How is that a performance issue at peak times.

Essentially the part of your exchange that you're connected to is having capacity issues at peak times.

As stated previously. There is no change in service at peak times or any other times.  It is round about 3 Mbps all the time.

A full week now and still no change and no contact from plusnet.  I called customer services today to ask what was happening. He said he would test the line. He then told me I had a fault and he would pass it on to the faults department. No mention of what has been happening for the last week.

Can somebody please let me know what is happening.

After a week I would expect an update of, if not a fix for, the problem.

Exact same happened to me, was fine for a while then one evening around 2am (I was watching a youtube documentary) my connection halted, it Didn't drop, or lose connection but it just halted, from then on I've had 6-8Mb/s downward constantly, no matter time of day, going on a month now Sad

@2010dsc The capacity issues in your area have been fixed and the last speedtest you carried out shows your speeds as being within expected levels

@Mr_Ormerod I've had a word with our Faults team and you should have a update in the next 24 hours.
