Speed dropped from 80MB to 59M

Hi there,

I used to get 80MB on my fibre constantly but im only getting 59MB max at the moment after rebooting router and into master socket.

My estimated line speed profile is :

Estimated line speed:80Mb (This may vary between 67Mb and 80Mb) - Checked on 2017-12-18 23:19:50

Current line speed:57.8 Mb

Am I on the wrong profile or something?

hope you can help

Thanks

Mike

Re: Speed dropped from 80MB to 59M

I'm afraid that there could be any number of reasons for the speed drop. As you will know, Plusnet people are usually in the Forum but they are a thin on the ground today. They may well pick this up. If they don't, or if you want to move things along, report as a fault.

To report a fault, run though the checks at https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/connection-troubleshooting/ and report a fault at https://www.plus.net/apps/kbdfaults It takes a bit of your time but costs you nothing, and makes Plusnet aware of your issue. They have to look at it, and the report gets the issue into the queue for action.

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: Speed dropped from 80MB to 59M

Hi @mikedoh,

I'm sorry that the speed that you're receiving at the moment is below the estimates for the line. I've tested your line and the test indicates that your line is currently banded to a maximum of 60mbps but it's not picking up any other issues. For reference, today's test result is as follows:

I've requested that our suppliers reset the DLM which should remove the banding and increase your speed to within the line's estimates - this should be carried out within two working days. Please reboot your router if you've not seen an automatic increase in speed by midnight on Tuesday the 23rd. Let us know if this doesn't resolve the problem.
