Speed drop that started fairly recently

I've been with plusnet a couple of years now now and have always had around 76-78mb download speed but recently it's dropped to around 65mb I was wondering if this is a permanent change and what is causing this sudden drop in speed.

Have your pings had any noticeable increase when the speed dropped?
Also what modem are you using?

@Apex, yes there are quite a few of us with this problem as well...I was getting the same as you and mine has dropped to the same as you lol.....They keep saying its crosstalk that's the problem, but its funny that the ones this seems to have happened to all seem to have gone down to the same speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Modem is the telcom bt openreach modem and ping hasn't seemed to have noticeably increased,

It should say ECI or Huawei but at a guess I'm going to say ECI as mine has "Telecom" written on the back next to ECI.
If your pings haven't had any increase then it's not the issue I'm thinking of unfortunately.
